I have tried almost all of the SR Tenor mouthpieces, metal and hard rubber, and they are all good ,just different. There are two different hard rubber pieces the Europa and the Legend. I liked the Europa the best,a very flexable mouthpiece, the Legend was also very good but really dark. Each Sr Tech mouthpiece was very comfortable but the tone was quite different on each one, it all depends on what you like.

The Europa's are all the rage these days here in Pittsburgh. I tried one at my repairman's place. It was good, very flexible and very easy to play, but it was just missing something to my ears. If it was a $250 piece, I'd say it was a great deal. But for nearly $400? Not so much...

I tried the Legend

I tried the Legend hard rubber. It was very nice. Too mellow for what I do. Tim at Sax Alley sells these and is very high on them.

For my money, you could get the same place with a hard rubber Vandoren V16 hard rubber. Have someone tweak it to get it where you want it to be and have money left over.

I would like to try a Europa. I had an SR Tech Pro metal piece for a while. I loved the way it responded and blew. The only problem was I sounded too harsh on it.

The Europa is supposed to be a mix of the Pro and one of the other metal pieces in hard rubber.

Thanks

I'm not looking for a new mpc. because I'm very pleased with my Saxscape. I just happened to get the WW BW catalog and noticed these. the price tag seemed high and wondered if they played themselves. I guess EVERYTHING is getting more expensive. Barone Vintage or Morgan, Jody Jazz HR *,Saxscape, OL pro Kessler all lower priced I would be surprised that these SR Tech sell. I know they have the metal ones which seem to work for some guys.

They probably fit certain players perfectly like anything else. I don't need to try them but where I hadn't heard about them before I was wondering if and who had checked them out.

Thanks for the replies so far.
