Hi guys!!

Saxxsymbol, I've never heard of Sebring. Is that near Orlando? I've only been as far up as Jupiter.

FBallatore, most S. Floridians are from the north anyways and spend part-time here. I'm a former NYer who has to fly back and forth throughout the year for fam obligations. So you're Floridian to me!

Martin, ahhh....a neighbor! Are you professional or amateur? Are you in any community bands? What do you do for a living?

Me...I'm 26 y.o. I started playing alto on and off since 2001 so I'm not where I should be. I've got down all the basics and I'm starting to learn a bit about jazz and to understand music theory, which is all greek to me. I'm starting to get a bit more serious about it, although I'm sure it will stay a hobby.
Fort Myers---but I'm currently deployed with the Navy. I'll be back in April.
SOUTH BEACH! Love it there.
My grandfather works as an artist south of Fort Myers in Engelwood, and I make it down there every year or so. I like south florida much better than other parts (less touristy).
sebring is straight up us hwy 27 in the middle of the state. we are about 1 hour south of orlando. the 12 hours of sebring road race is held every year here in march. funny but it is the most one of the most famous races in the world but most americans have never heard of it. it is currently in the American Le Mans series and is the same circuit as the 24 hours at daytona.
Hmmm...figures I never heard of it then. Don't know a doggone thing about car racing. :?
New to this forum...Lots of Great info for us florida folk!

Been playing for about 5 years....ready to learn more
AAh! The jazz wasteland of South Florida. There are some good players, but most of the gigs are commercial stuff and Latin bands. I always remember seeing that billboard on 95 northbound crossing into Broward county that read; Will the last American that leaves Miami please bring the flag with them?

What do you think an American is? And where did you come from? I don't believe you are one of the Native Americans. Wow, talk about ignorance.
Some great sax players live in S. Florida. Jesse Jones, Jr. comes to mind. Ira Sullivan, too.
Hi Al Stevens,

I grew up there (WPB), and you are very right about the good players being around there.

Peace,

Sneeky
melbourne south enough for ya?
I lived in Delray Beach for a number of years and didn't meet any other sax players. Wound up doing solo gigs just to work.

I do know that the most coveted Link mouthpieces were made in south florida, Pompano Beach.
All you saxpalyers in WPB / Palm beach County area contact me.
