I have googled... and though prestini USA sells flat springs for 1.10, the minimum order quantity is 100. Locally people can make needle springs but I really need flat springs to be well made. Anyone know a good source? I can't spend 4 to 5$ plus shipping for a flat spring. Ideally I would love to find a source in China or Taiwan where the quality would be good and price less.
I feel some of the guys who have their own brand of saxophones should consider opening an online store for parts like screws, pearls, corks, springs, rollers, felts, guards, thumbrests, maybe pads etc made in Taiwan...

I am in Canada and bought (and received) several individual flat springs from Prestini recently. I didn't see any mention of a minimum quantity.

You might have a look at http://www.zhmelody.com/. I don't see flat springs, but their stuff is OK and affordable.

Do not buy anything from ZhengHao.
I've tried thrice with Zhenghao... the first time I had to dispute to get him to send the items. I gave him the benefit of the doubt.
The second time I needed some mpcs, so I bought again, but had to dispute, and got my money back. I should not have tried a third time, but I did, and, I mistakenly paid as a paypal guest, which means I can't open a dispute. Bye bye money, no response from the great Mr. Wang Zheng, inspite of calls, smses, emails and finally an ultimatum.

Mr. Wang's a Wallet Cleaner Now

It is sad, since Zheng Hao products were not bad. Years ago, it used to be a decent shop. In recent times Zhmelody has taken my money but has not sent me anything. Mr. Wang Zheng does not even reply any e-mails. Zenghao webshop has turned to be just another lousy China Scam. Spare your money for honest sellers!

Of course you could source material from old clock springs, or old vacuum cleaner cord retraction springs, or the spring inside a video cassette, and shape/drill your own.
