Hello!

Wave got me in the mood to stay in this style. From Joe Henderson's debut album "Page One" (1963, Blue Note). I think Aebersold has at least one other version- if anyone has any more versions please share--thanks!

1:55 - One of the most famous Parker licks worked in at blinding speed. Nice Joe.

I've worked on this one some. i will not be playing it at 200+ bpm.

I'm looking forward to working on this again.

Some great takes already from WSR and Brendan.

WSR I really dug that and interesting contrast with the tempos. Loved your approach on the slow one, it was a fun and interesting exploration...

Brendan - sounding good, you came out of the box kind of busy. Pacing yourself is usually a good idea, especially on a tune like this.

Been playing very little horn this summer, seeing that this is one of the few tunes I can still make it though I figured I'd take a swing at it. Just a quick and dirty recording with my iPhone and the backing played on the stereo in the room.

Agreed ! A sparser first chorus or two would have made it more interesting - I was just too tense and panicky to do anything ...

Lots of variety in yours Shawn - excellent tone too. Maybe turn the stereo up just a bit more ?
(That's how I recorded mine as well. It's just too much work to record tracks using Audacity etc .. ! )
