Hi all,
Peter graciously asked me to pick the April 2015 TOTM. Many tunes went through my mind. However, after listening to Dexter's outstanding take, (which ones aren't) this one lasted with me. Dexter is playing so beautifully (as usual) on this recording( Mk VI & Otto Link combo). So Days Of Wine And Roses had to be the tune of the month for April 2015. What happened next was that I delved into the history of this composition. I Googled the title and wiki gave me the low down on the movie. I couldn't believe what I read. I myself as we speak am at this cross road, just like many have been. Anyway that's life. However life is much bigger than any cross road. Please enjoy this beautiful song composed by Henry Mancini, "Days of Wine And Roses"

P.S. Sorry that I have not got the facility or knowledge on how to up load a PDF of the Bb or Eb chart. If any one can help in this regard that would be much appreciated.

The following is a backing track from Youtube.

The following is a YouTube clip of Long Tall Dexter doing what he does best!

EDIT PB:

Here are some scores and chord schemes for Bb and Eb instruments, together with three mp3 backing tracks from youtube (all can be seen and downloaded from below link):

As also posted in another thread about this song, this is one of my favourite versions, recorded by Ben Webster with a local band in Denmark:

Love all the false air of Ben's subtones, he is really working to get out those low notes in this take :).

Thanks Peter,

Will give it a go. See what happens over the next hour. Hopefully I'll get a positive result. Time will tell. Thanks again!

Maybe this will help for those that don't know about this great URL. it's called YouTube MP3 http://www.youtube-mp3.org/ How it works is like this.

1) Copy the URL from your chosen Youtube URL into the YouTube MP3 http:// window

2) then in YouTube MP3 press the "Convert Video tab"

3) Then when you can read the message "Video successfully converted to mp3" press the "Download" tab

4) A window will pop up asking you to 1) save file or 2) Open with your default media player ie. Windows or iTunes.

You have now successfully converted a Youtube Video to a playable Mp3 into your media player.

I hope this helps any one who is not all ready using this great facility!
