It's been mentioned in other threads that a separate TOTM thread is needed. I am starting this one with November 2009 being the first month. All members/levels of ability are welcome to participate. Since I know little about the rules/regulations about this sort of thing I welcome a Moderator(s) review of this thread and suggestions to help lay down the groundwork.

Current tune ideas are:

LUSH LIFE

STARDUST

..any others before we get rolling?

Doh, why am I always too late?
I don't know this one. Could you hum a couple of bars? Maybe I can fake it...:)

Would we use the same backing tracks?

Detour Ahead is a great melody.
Yes, it is. I have always enjoyed hearing it played, sung or playing it myself. Good tune.

Several of us have just bought the HL Hoagy Carmichael book for Skylark. I agree with Mike when he suggested we get some mileage out of that book before moving on. So my nomination for November would be "Stardust"

Re: SOTW November 2009 Tune of the Month

Thank you to moderator Frank Ballatore for making this thread a sticky. As of right now this is an all-levels of ability thread. With that in mind I hope that any player -beginner to advanced will welcome players of other abilities and constructively critique versions of the tune by anyone posting a link to their version regardless of that players caliber.

Since we are so close to November and the tune suggestions could get numerous (and more confusing) I am going to make a call on one that was offered then seconded. I listened to it and think it's beautiful and a perfect starter tune for this thread and can be done well by all levels of ability.

Tune of the Month for November > Detour Ahead

You have already made the thread, but for next year name it 2010 Tune of the Month.

Don't want to be starting a new thread every month, or maybe you do?
