My name is Andy, and I'm in Bedford, England, UK.
I'm just getting back into playing my bari after a break of about 6-7 years. I have a Selmer SA 80 Series II, and when I was playing more I was into Jazz, R&B, Rock and a bit of Blues.
I recently got my horn out of the loft as I really think it ought to be played rather than gathering dust, and perhaps that I should be playing more as well (instead of gathering dust!).

Hi my name is Will Miura from Irvine, CA. I used to play sax in my youth from 12 years old to 18 years old. I miss playing but its been 12 years since i've played. I have 2 Yamaha saxophones, 1 alto and my prized absolutely mint condition 62R that I picked up brand new from Yamaha in Japan about 17 years ago which I will be selling.

Hi... I'm Alexandra, in Sonoma CA. Just fell in love with soprano sax a couple of months ago and decided I had to learn to play it. Just had to!!! So here I am... 63 yrs old, out of shape (I can get through about 4 bars before gasping for breath!) but still in love and going for it. Getting to that horn is the high point of every day now. I have a wonderful teacher, and now a wonderful instrument... my teacher got a new soprano and sold me his Antigua 586. Yippee! Love this forum... great place to learn, with lots of nice people and good advice. Hope to meet some of you and hear you play sometime...

My name is Mike, I live in Leighton Buzzard, Bedfordshire , England.
I first picked up a sax around 4 years ago and now can't imagine how I lived without playing.
I play Tenor (Selmer Ref 36) occasionally Alto and Soprano and have just got a Martin Baritone to restore.
I'm sure I will need some information on the bari so I will have a good brouse around the site to see what has been discussed ref. Martin Saxs

Hi Bariandyf, Just noted you are on my doorstep.
This may not be of interest to you, but we are looking for a bari player in a local concert band. The band has a wide mix of abilities, Grade 3 up and we play all sorts of stuff, but mostly we have a lot of laughs practicing, playing out in the local area and sociallising.

My name is Kaz. I have been an active reader of this fascinating forum for few years already, although I've never introduced myself. I have been playing sax when I was a child till I came to my 19s and then I had to sell my old B&S alto...Now, as I have just bought the 1966 Conn 10M and started to play after 8-year brake, I decided it is a best time to say hi to all of you! Thanks for all of your great input to this marvelous community.

Another hello...

Actually a flute player who learned to double on sax to get into the "good" bands in high school, I returned to playing when I bought a 1926 Beuchler Soprano Saxophone at the local Goodwill (in pretty bad shape). After several hard months of fiddly work I have a playing horn (and I think unhappy neighbours). Inspired by my first success I bought a 1930's Pedlar silver clarinet that had been turned into a lamp.... luckily the lamp parts were worth about what I payed for it as I still refuses to come completely apart (still soaking some bits in very light oil and hoping for success). I was really just curious about what a metal calrinet would sound like.

Been thinking about a modern (lower pitched) horn so I look more like a player and not so much some nerdy collector.

Hey! My name is Michael. I play the alto sax, and that's about it so far. I play in a marching and concert band, but with no real passion. My true love for music and my sax comes from the funky rhythms of jazz. My father was a big time jazz drummer in his younger days, and has managed to somehow pass that love of this amazing musical art into me and my brothers. All three of us are musicians, myself and my twin brothers. I've been playing for a few years, and lightly touching on jazz. Until recently I had decided that I need to stop futzing around and sit down and stick to one thing for once. Now most of my days are devoted to practicing my horn and learning scales so that I can hopefully one day say I've accomplished a goal of being able to play beautiful jazz. That's about it, but I have another thing to share. I'm not sure if it's okay here but I just started a YouTube channel where I plan on taking a daily recording of myself playing and posting it (mainly for myself) so that in the future I can literally hear how much I've progressed. I figure it'll help me if I ever get down about my playing (but then again there's always the blues! Haha). Hi, name is Sean Sutherland and I live in BC. I've been playing sax casually for about 5 years but have taken it stupidly seriously for the last year and a half. I play everyday for 3-5+ hours. I am very concentrated on tone at the moment though I certainly make time for tunes and patterns. I graduate from highschool this year and the year after next I intend to apply to Vancouver Island University for Jazz Studies. This summer I am going to work my *** of to buy a sick horn... I play Tenor now but started on Alto. Eventually I hope to have quite a collection of horns and MPs.

I aspire to teach sax at a university level.

Hi, my name is Garðar and I live in Eskifjörður - Iceland. I'm currently 15 years old and I've been playing the alto saxophone for about five years now. I've also played the tenor sax, but it's not my dream instrument. I prefer the alto or soprano. This is a great web and I just found it few days ago. I've learned much from this web on that short period of time. Thanks for this great web.

My name is Todd from Pittsburgh PA. I play an EWI 4000s with Patchman sounds via a Roland XV-5050.

I end up playing enough sax on the EWI to be interested in making it sound right (whatever that might mean). I am a piano player and got into the EWI several years ago to cover more sounds in the band I was in - mainly trumpet, flute, etc. for various cover songs.

I have gotten more and more interested in the EWI/sax since then - these days I play a lot of blues type stuff as well as original material.

Hi everyone! I'm Ray from new york city. I played the alto sax for3 years in junior high school band and got really good at it. Now I graduated college and working, I miss those days with my saxophone. I'm looking to buy one so I can rekindle my love for music. Very rusty and need to review those alto sax fingering charts again, but I vaguely remember them. Hope to get good again.
