This month's tune is --> Embraceable You <--
Thank you Matt. No real band. It's BIAB believe it or not. The new update is very convincing. My alto set up is a B&S Medusa, MC Gregory 4A20 Master Model & 3 soft Roberto's reeds.Tim, thanks, nice take. Is that a band of yours playing behind you? Who are the players? Also, what brand of horn do you play on? Buescher?
Great job Mascio. I loved it. Sounded like Pete Christlieb. Excellent!!
Very soulful sounding. Loved the smooth fast runs up and down (and over top of) the horn.
My tone getting somewhere. My pitch control still needs work [Impnt]
Thanks Rolltrane and Matt, TJ, darn those dogs, good practise for an unruly audience though..................Macio, I love your articulation.. good melodies and clear ideas! Laurel, nice vocal version, I love the dogs barking in the back ground on the head out, that cracked me up, no respect! Great scatting too.
Wow... I thought I was on the ball by recording something last night, on the first day of the month! Was hoping to get in before we were all wowed by the great players on this tune. I see I'm too late, lots of great stuff so far. I'll give more thoughtful comments later, but in the meantime here's my meager first take on this tune in an attempt to have an "old school" sound:
