With musician work in such short supply, I count myself very lucky to have been asked to record on my friend Marcos Villalta's latest EP. He asked me to play a soprano sax solo on the second track "Entering the Noisey Valley". Marcos plays every other instrument on the album, which is quite an impressive feat and very fitting given the times we are living through.
This solo was my first home recording. I should explain that because of the restrictions we have in Melbourne, I'm not really allowed to leave the house all that often. The mic is an AKG C414 XLII running through an Avid Fast Track Duo usb interface. I'm playing my wonderful early 90s Yani S-880 with a Yani 7 mouthpiece and RJS3s reeds. Marcos did all the mixing and mastering.
