Most importantly what I got from this is that Sonny is in decent enough health despite his respiratory illness that he will be with us a little longer. We have lost too many Jazz masters this year and we still need Sonny. If only for his words of wisdom.

I couldn't let this whole thread stay deleted just because some people couldn't resist the urge to break the forum rules. It's too important to saxophone playing and players. So I've removed just the political/inflammatory posts and collateral (quotes etc.) and let's see how we manage second time around.

Will it be possible to discuss the great man and some of his views and experiences while staying within the bounds of the forum, which everyone should know by now? If not please look at the rules before replying here.

Thank you all in advance.

Thanks for doing this Pete. I'd also like to thank SteveS for keeping the Jay Metcalf tenor video thread more or less civil and I'm sure he's looking at a few posts there that perhaps you can look at as well. Thanks in advance.
