Hi, I thought I had already posted this message but can't seem to find it anywhere so I'll try again. I am working on Killer Joe but the solo on the bridge has me confused. ( I'm fairly new to improvisation ) Does anyone know where I can find a fairly simple solo of Killer Joe that I can listen to on the internet. Everything that I have found so far is way beyond my ability. Usually that helps me to get started. Thanks.

I thought there were only two whole tone scales?
So did I. In fact, I'll go out on a limb and state for a fact that there are two whole tone scales. I don't know how many hole tone scales there are though, or even what they are.

As to soloing over Killer Joe, in the unlikely event the OP is still around, I'd suggest learning the chord progression and song form for a start.

Ha! I didn't even see that. 5 1/2 year thread revival.

With the group I'm in now, we don't solo over the bridge on Killer Joe. The guys in my old group always wanted to, but I'd try and discourage them by playing it in the altissimo range when my turn came up. Hey, there's an idea. Play it straight an octave or two above and make it look really, really hard.
