I just ordered a Gulf sopranino from Bob. It will arrive in about a week I think. I'm very curious about it. I think I'll be very happy with this sax. But I think I'll need to buy a new mouthpiece. I've heard some bad things about the stock mp. So I think I'll order a selmer S80. Idk a D or E maybe? I'll post again when it's arrived and let you guys know how it plays!

When I had my 'nino (a gorgeous R&C) I bought two Selmer S-80 pieces for it (D & E). They went with the horn when I sold it. Liked the E the best. DAVE

You might want to wait and try the stock mpc out first. I have that same sax and I use the mpc with no problems.

I mostly use a Selmer C** on my ninos, although I am becoming very fond of my relatively new silver plated metal Yanagisawa #5 for "solo" performances (whether intended or not - it does let me cut through just about anything).

Good luck with the 'nino! It's a whole new world of high ...

I bought the same nino from Bob and I'm using that stock mouthpiece with a Rovner ligature I got on ebay. Also using #2 Vandoren reeds. I'm just fine with it. Maybe wait until you try it first. You may have the same result. If you do decide to discard the mouthpiece, I'll pay you for it. Mike

How long did it take for the sax to get to you? Bob said it'll be about 3 days, but I can't believe that it will go that fast from china to europe..

Update: The gulf 'nino arrived and I just love it! It plays perfectly in tune and it sounds very nice. Bob is a very nice guy to do business with.
