That's not engraving, it's either paint or a vinyl treatment. You can get all kinds of goofy treatments these days.

Well, I'm not a tech, but I assume since there are lacquer based paints and horns are lacquered, that they would. I myself am a basic gold lacquer guy with maybe some silver here or there. But when you're a young firebrand you gotta go with some pizzazz....:headbang:
