Who's going to the SMR 100 Sigurd Rascher Centennial Celebration at Fredonia on November 10 and 11?

Count me in. I will coming in late friday evening with fellow SOTW'er (and Fredonia grad) Graysax.

Who else is going?

Believe it or not, I might be coming...a musicology position has opened up at SUNY Fredonia and my wife is applying. I might use that as an excuse to travel up there...of course, I'll look a little out of place without a Buescher...

Who cares if you aren't a Rascher style player. The guy was such a significant person for us classical saxophonists! I wish I could go all the way up to this once in a life time event T .T, hopefully I'll live to 117 to go to his Bicentennial conference lol.

If I didn't have a performance to do, I'd definitely be paying hundreds to fly up and attend. No doubt.

An event not to be missed. Wildy, Meighan, Gwozdz, Kelly, Harry White, Rascher SQ, Houlik, Jon Bergeron, et al. It's like an All-Star Game. And besides the performances, there's the materials in the new archive!!

As I am driving Qwerty to this - I also want to tell all of you to keep your eyes on the Posts here - I will try and formalize a SOTW meeting place and time as we get closer to teh date. I grew up in that area and I think I know where we can do this - and sorry to say - you may have to drink an adult beverage to fit in. So - keep the eyes open!!!
