A decent silverplate Rev A 'Alliance' alto on eBay in Australia...

Could be nice project horn? Mostly doesn't look too bad. Shame the Pawn Shop seller seems to think $30 postage will cover delivery costs.
Hate to see it end up at the buyer's door in that lovely original case (with some postage stamps affixed) and the horn smashed to bits...

@Mods - Sorry if this in the wrong place!
SML sax found its way home safely after i picked it up personally.
Plays well on older pads and only needed minor adjustment on the octave
key.
Technician tells me the case may not be original?
Possibly from a vintage Czech sax.
Either way I love the sax and case.
Would appreciate any information on the SML Rev A saxes.
Not a lot to be found on internet.

Great to hear the Rev A made it home safely! :)
If that's all the work it needed you made out like a bandit! Looks like a great horn - very tidy. I would have tried to snag it myself but I would have had to fly to Vic and try and explain why I need another alto! The case is gorgeous. I don't know anything about Czech or SML cases but I doubt SML badged their cases. Maybe someone here knows about the original cases?
In regards to info it seems knowledge is centred around the Gold Medals, King Marigauxs and to some extent the Rev Ds. Yours sits in the wartime production which must of been an interesting time for the occupied French company. I love that they were using Stars of David on the bells ;) B"H
