Hi, I have a sax that my father bought me in high school late 70s, serial 23... The keys are tarnished. I don't know what they are made of (nickel?...) and I would like to know if it is possible to make them shine again and how.

Also, it is clear at this point that I will not play it again... took a while to realize this... does anyone know how much they are worth, supposing I can clean the keys to a less tarnished state.

Thanks in advance.

probably silver plate. It will clean up very nicely. Leave the cleaning to the new buyer.

SML’s have quite a following you should be able to get at least $1000 for this (since it needs a complete overhaul provided there is nothing else).

You cannot sell here prior to gaining the privilege to do so ( 50 meaningful posts and 6 months membership). Good luck!
