Simple Bb Blues in Reaper - Quick Take, Mistakes and All

331 Views 2 Replies 2 Participants Last post by  J-Moen
This is my first attempt at putting a track together on Reaper. I am trying to dial in my Reverb/Compression/EQ settings. I then added the track to my video editor with a cool Vertigo filter. My Alto has also been getting lonely, since I've been focusing on tenor Blue Monk - so it didn't help my playing.

If anyone could weigh on how my settings are and where I can improve in Reaper, I would be very appreciative!

Hi Jared, you made a good choice, I love this tune. It's not so bad, the head is good although you're rushing on 9th and 10th bars. You play on the beat, the phrase starts after the first beat.
The sound was good at the beginning, you should work on articulation.
I'm not a very advanced player, you should work on basic things.
I send you a pm.
There are some good ideas. It comes step by step.
