I've been looking for recordings/videos of Mr. Rascher, but I can't seem to find anything anywhere...at all. Can anyone tell me where to find good recordings/videos? I'd really appreciate it.

Amazon carries several cd's with some of his preformances such as the Haba, Coates' Saxo-Rhap, Debussy Rhapsodie (not his best playing), and the von Koch concerto. Just type Sigurd Rascher in the search and it should come up.

The recordings that mkemp mentions, the Haba is by far his weakest recording. The Saxo-Rapsody is from 1937, so it is very early and interesting for that reason. The Debussy is often poohed upon on this forum, but I happen to think it is a wonderful recording, artistically speaking, even if technically he isn't at his best (though he doesn't play it bad, technically speaking, either).

There are plenty of other recordings available by people who have come across them and are willing to share...(i.e., me).

If you give your own advice a try you will see why ab1990 asked his question. Your search turns up about 3 minutes of available Rascher, the 1937 Saxo-Rhapsody, an interesting historical performance but not well-recorded and a musically vapid piece.

[Edit]To be fair the von Koch might still be available from international sources.
