I am using Sibelius V4 on PC (Windows XP) and it keeps crashing in the same way, but I don't understand why.

I have got two Sibelius files that I want to copy and paste from as I build up an arrangement in a third file. The first two files come from a midi and from a Finale file imported as Music XML. Both of the imports seem fine and produce proper Sibelius files that play back etc.

When I select passages or bars from either of these files and try to copy and paste them into the thrid arrangement file, Sibelius stops responding and shuts itself down.

Does anyone know why this might be happening ?

Instead of copying the score might want to try and append it. There would be less on your computer clipboard.

Otherwise, click Help> Help Center and let Sibelius give you the answer. I have no idea why you computer is crashing. This is a little beyond what I can handle.

Make sure that your destination is adequately prepared to house your copied material. Sibelius can't make staffs automatically while pasting (I believe), and when you have too many staves trying to be pasted, sibelius will crash.
