I just bought a Shure wireless in-ear monitor system. It seemed like it was fine until I bought another XLR cable so I could run my wireless mic through my vocal performer pedal. Now the earphones emit a hissing sound although I can hear the saxophone in there. What am I doing wrong? I wouldn't think I should be hearing any hissing.

Anyone got some input on this? I am using a new AMT wireless mic and I am wondering if it is just so sensitive that it picks up any ambient noise and I hear it in the shure in-ear system.

You may need what's called a buzz-kill or noise reducer. Sometimes the FX pedals create a hiss due to internal loop noise. A "hum debugger" would probably get you right. Otherwise, check the gain output levels and see if they're too high. There's ALWAYS noise- it's just how much do you hear?!
