Hey, just gotta' show some appreciation for Mike Griffin of Blue Note Musical Instrument Repair in Calgary, AB.
Mike has been around the scene for a very long time and he knows his stuff.
I contacted him to discuss some fine-tuning of a Mark VII Tenor and I knew from the get-go he knew what it needed.
He took time to understand my particular needs and preferences, and was able to home in on the most critical issues while staying within my budget.
This is the second time I've taken a horn to Mike - the other was a Reference 54 Alto, which he tweaked for me just the same.
Blue Note's work is prompt, professional and the horn plays awesome!
Mike's rates are more than reasonable and he's a friendly guy too.
If you're in Alberta and in particular if you're in Calgary, consider him for work you need done on your saxes.
He's on here @Blue Note
His website is Blue Note Music – We focus on the instrument. You focus on the music.

Sonorous1 - Thanks for the shout out. Much appreciated. It’s always a joy seeing horns like your pristine Mark VII.

Happy playing

This is good to know! My partner lives in Calgary and I'm pleased to hear that there's a good music shop up there. I'll have to visit once I'm free and clear.
