Hi. Can someone tell me how the description in title rates? Just saw one for sale for 50 bucks. It's metal. I've only tried a Selmer metal soprano soprano and didn't really like it. I'm playing a Drake Ceramic on my tenor now, getting an OK sound, but want something with a little more edge. Any info appreciated. Thanks.

Try it out if you can, for at least a week or two. When 'edge' is sought, the usual names that come up are Berg, Dukoff, Guardala . . . I've never heard of Selmer E's as being particularly 'edgy' but you may find that it works for you since a lot of the tone quality comes from reed, embouchure, and general attack.

Thanks for the sage advice. I've decided to pass on this mpc. I'm going to try some different strength reeds, gradually move up a notch or two. Trying out the one for sale wouldn't work well as I'm in a small town and and the piece is 300 miles south. Thanks again, Shotgun. Sandy
