Necks on a II

Allo ,I remember last winter switching and did put a Serie III neck on the Serie II,and did the oposite! It will fit,,and I did prefer the III neck on the II Serie specialy in opening up the sound and it was easier to play overhaul coompare to the original II neck! Also the arch on the Serie II is higher then the Serie III is lower, which I do prefer!
Hope this help!
All the best

Flyguy, did you see the recent thread heath posted on necks? There might be something in it that adds to whatever comments you might get here. He did a lot of neck switching on Selmer tenors.

I did read that thread. It was very interesting but I was more concerned with fit and octave mechanism compatibility rather than sound and response. I just can't get used to the SII neck angle.

I played a Selmer thinwall sterling II neck on my tenor III and the intonation was miserable - unplayable.

I recently sold a Ref 54 neck to someone with a II. Had I known he was going to put it on a II, I might not have let him buy it. Predictably, the sound and response was great. Then he listened to the horn and found the intonation was out the window. He sold the neck soon after that to someone that used it on a Mk VI - for a while and then went back to the stock neck. ;)
