Has anyone heard of the Selmer Soloist? By that, I'm not referring to the mouthpiece, but the student saxaphone. I rented it from a store called Victors House of Music, in Paramus, NJ, approximately 5 years ago, and purchased it. I'm in the 11th grade, but no longer take band/need the horn. I'd like to sell it, but my father and I can't find anything about the horn other then that it's a student sax. It's in fantastic condition with few scratches and dents, but I don't know what to put in a writeup about it for ebay or craigslist. Can anyone provide insight?
-Thanks

I'd say keep the speculation of what the sax's origins and or likeness to another Selmer model out of the description. Take good pictures of the sax from all angles, and describe the sax to the best of your ability; that should enable you to get at least $300 from it if it's in decent shape. If you're really hard pressed to find out about the sax's origins, I'd say just contact Selmer USA directly.

Thank you very much. From what I've read, it's similar to the TS500, and a combo of the la voix and la vie horns. I'll see what else I can find, thank you

I have got your answer. I called Selmer at 574-522-1675 and got a live operator and was transferred to someone that could answer my questions immediately. I just bought a Selmer soloist provided them the serial number and was told the model was model TSOL 300 and was built in 2010. Was told Selmer still sells it today $2,595 retail but I found it difficult to find on line as I think it is again branded for retailers under a different name. Love the horn, mine was in near mint condition, big bell, high f# key great sound. I probably paid a premium at $652 but it came with a month warranty so I will take it back in 30 days for any adjustments or repairs. Hope this was helpful.
