Hey all, i'm in the market for clarinet and found a guy selling a Selmer Signet 100, Selmer Signet Special, Normandy 4, and Normandy 5. My clarinet chops are sketchy at best so I can't really play and deside what I like, wondering what your opinions are on these horns. They're all priced about the same and all in good condition.

Thanks!

My only knowledge is regarding the Normandy. It is truly a great clarinet (provided it's in good shape). I've got three of them. One is a Normandy Special with a plastic bell. Another was bought new in 1989 with the engraved logo, and another is more recent, with a silkscreened logo. They all play the same, with very minor differences in the keywork, which is comfortable. The bore is large, so with the right mouthpiece you can play some legit music or unleash it for some great dixieland. I've had a great job for a while, and can afford something more substantial (read Buffet) but I have a hard time justifying the purchase. For the price, you can't go wrong.
