Hi All,

I've been thinking about picking up the clarinet. Locally, someone is advertising a Selmer Signet Special for $125.00. I was wondering if this is a good clarinet or not. Keep in mind I have never played clarinet before. Any advice would be appreciated!

If it's in good shape, it's a deal. Have a clarinetist or tech look at it for you. If it needs an overhaul, then it's not a deal. It's a good, French made (I think) horn.

That's what I learned on. A nice horn for the saxophone player, it's a little more free blowing, which makes the transition to clarinet a little more comfortable. Check for cracks.

I started playing about six months ago on a Signet Special and really like it a lot. I bought it completely refurbished for just under $300. They are made by Selmer US.
