I recently bought an engraved Selmer neck and would like to know if Selmer sold original engraved necks, or if the engraving was applied afterwards.

The engraving could be original and it also appears to me to be a gold-plated neck, but it could just be the picture.

Yes. I have a gold plated SII alto neck that has similar engraving and an unlaquered SII tenor neck with a different metal (more copper I think) that has exactly the same engraving.

All of the bird series necks came engraved from the factory Tim if I remember correctly. I had a dragon bird tenor for a while and I'm pretty sure the neck was engraved.

Thanks, you helped me a lot with the information. Now I see much clearer.
