Modele 26 Alto value?

Hi,

I'm curious about the market value of this "modele 26" alto, which I believe it's a silver plate. I've read a bit through the "ongoing study" thread, but can't figure it out. Any info is appreciated!

Here are a few pics:

Thank you

I am not quite sure that this horn started its life this way in satin finish, which leaves only the brand and model details un-satined . I think this was silverplated or nickel plated and it was “ restored” to this questionable finish. In the ’80 there was a shop in the NL which sold lots of satin finished horn which were done this way . I have always managed to stay well away from these!

As such its collector’s value is 0 because , I think, no collectors would want a horn so badly botched.

As a “player’s” horn one has to consider the fat that the appeal of these selmer is considerably lower than later models.

I don’t think that this would bring more than €1000. If that.

still looks in good shape, and these 26 models can be really lovely saxophones.
this one looks better than some re-lacquers i have seen.
$1500-2500 seems the norm these days for these older selmer paris altos.
if it was a tenor,it would bring up to $3500.
