Short comparison video of these two lovely horns. (The 6M is a viii version)
Same selmer classic mpc (1950s) and reed on each, so the comparison as as near as possible. No reverb or EQ at all.
For me, what's noticeable is how similarly they record.
Anyway, hopefully interesting for some of you somewhere.

Neat! I think they would have recorded even more similarly if you had pulled the neck strap a bit higher on the 6M. The mouthpiece was a bit more damped by the position. I have noticed this difference when I play my 6m back to back with a more modern horn. Not only is the strap hook in a different location on the 6m, the neck angle is a bit lower. Did you feel the 6m to be a bit more resistant initially?

I have the same thing happen when I play my Super 20 tenor back to back with my Keilwerth.

Funny; I thought that when I watched the thing back before putting it on youtube!
