Has anyone got a second hand curved Yanagisawa soprano saxophone neck.
I have just restored a Yanagisawa soprano sax stencil.
But it only has one straight neck. There was originally also a curved neck, but it has gone walkabout.
Please get in touch if you have one, or knows of someone who has one.
Thanks,

I think he is referring to a regular straight soprano missing it’s curved neck.

John, I would ask Yanagisawa. They probably still make them.

There is no doubt that you can buy replacement soprano sax necks from Yanagisawa. http://www.yanagisawasax.co.jp/en/saxophones/view/528 (you might have to hunt around to find a dealer who carries them, however, or else do a special order). The question is whether the new neck will fit an older Yany stencil. My experience has been that Yanagisawa is very good about matching the size of its neck tenons over the years, but I don't know how far back into the past the consistency extends.

As far as I know, Yanagisawa didn't make stencils for their curved sopranos or their dual neck straight sopranos.

That said, necks for the S-880, S-990, and S-991/992 should all fit with each. A 991/992 neck going with an 880 body will need the octave mechanism extended, and that may also be the case with a 990 body. From what I have read, the 880 and 990 use the same neck.
