Does anyone know a free way to record this from streaming? I would love to put it on my iPod...............
If you're using a PC, download Freecorder - I use it all the time for situations like this.

If you're on a Mac you can probably record it through your sound card with Audacity or a similar program. Freecorder won't run on a Mac unless you're running a Windows OS.

Great music, thank you!

Any idea what reed Seamus is using on the Focustone Precision?

Thanks, sebastian, very interesting. I haven't tried those yet on my Focustones. So far Rigotti Gold have given me the best results.

Wow, that was great! Thanks so much for posting that. I really like Seamus Blake's playing - so much going on in both his sound and his approach. At times he sounds like Trane, other times like Brecker, others like Mintzer, all the while sounding like himself. Along with Chris Potter, one of the true young titans of our times.

Actually, I think that his sound on the Focustone brings him (at least in this recording) much closer to Potter tonewise than the Reso chamber did.

Seamus mentioned also he was standing a little close to the mic. When he was trying pieces, we all agreed he sounded the most like himself on the Precision. I hadn't anticipated Seamus trying any metal pieces.

I wonder if that's a current picture of Seamus. I've never seen him with a metal link before. He sounds great. Thanks!
Steve, Seamus played on a metal Link when we were in school. I always thought he sounded the best on it. For what it's worth, same with Bergonzi........I always liked his sound the best when he was playing metal Links in the 70's-80's.
