You know how a major scale is constructed with the intervals WWHWWWH?

A diminished scale is constructed WHWHWHWH. It alternates whole steps and half steps. So, a C Diminished scale would be:
C D Eb F F# G# A B C

The Augmented scale is m3 H m3 H m3 H. It alternates minor 3rds and half steps.
C Eb E G G# B C

Buy what you're probably looking for is the whole-tone scale. Both the Whole Tone and Augmented Scales fit over Augmented chords. The Whole Tone is constructed WWWWWW. All whole steps.
C D E F# G# A# C
