Saxscape Downtown Studio (new)

Has anybody tried Ken's new Downtown Studio?

It has a shorter baffle than a Guardala King/Super-King....otherwise they are quite similar in terms of the high baffle leading into a bullet chamber.

Just wondering what will that do to the sound...

You might want to call Ken. I bought the Uptown Live and used it in a gig last night. It was a hair more open than I am used to so I used a size 3 Alexander reed and it played very well. Fat lower end, and pretty easy altisimo and in tune up and down. It has more power than my JJ ESP and a bit easier to blow and a tad warmer. I bought one of his new slim line models and I like it since I can use the same ligature as I use on other metal pieces.
I 2nd the Uptown Live ( I have a .108" tip) slim profile.. great piece so far
FYI, I Bought the .112 (Number 8 model Slim Line) and had been playing a .110. Overall Great peice.
I bought the Downtown (regular-not-studio) a month or so ago.. and absolutely LOVE it. Best mouthpiece I've ever played.
Can you pls record some MP3s with it? I would love to hear how you sound with the Downtown.
Finally bought the Downtown Studio...slim profile. It played so smoothly and resonates so well..iot went beyond my expectations. I had expected it to be loud and overtly-brightish...but was surprised at how flexible it sounds. The tone is buttery and smooth like a good Link...but with a brightly-textured edge. I wonder if that's got to do with the short-baffle coupled with a bullet chamber.

It can take lots of air (I got a .112) and it gets brighter when pushed.

Used it with a Rovner Dark lig...and Vandoren ZZ #2 reeds.

Thanks, Ken. I believe I'm the first in my country to own this piece of work of art.

Now I'm considering getting the Uptown Live to complete my tenor sound arsenal.
Thanks Adrian! Enjoy the mpc!

that's the only setup I've tried...seems to be working well
I got my Downtown Studio .108 4 days ago, and let me tell you its the best HR piece i have ever played, it was well worth the wait, i had my Guardala LT King and Sr Tech Fusion 108 waiting for it, they could not battle with Ken's Saxscape. The sound is amazing fat, fat, highs, super lush lows, altissimo notes clear and easy to articulate. Ken was very easy to deal with, answered all my questions, reply to all of my e mails, great guy to deal with.
