Hi:

I'm looking for sax quartet and percussion pieces. Unfortunately Gubaidulina's piece is for rental so I'm looking for other options.

Any suggestions? (I do not have the Londeix book...)

Thanks!

Bernhard Heiden- Four movements, SATB and timpani

Other works I know nothing about but are listed in Londeix book:

1. Erik Bergman- Quint-Essence, SATB and perc.

2. Angel Ballester- Metamorfosis, SATB and perc

3. Nils Asheim- Kvad, SATB and perc.

4. Kevin Holm-Hudson- Coil, SATB and perc.

5. Heinz Kratochwil- Attacken, SATB and perc.

6. Manuel Pierre Rodriguez- Enigma, SATB and marimba

There are many more in the Londeix book beyond this. Shoot me an e-mail (you can grab it off my website) if you want/need more.

A good one I've had the chance to play before is KRASCH! by Ander Nilson. Awesome piece. Calls for quartet, six percussionists, and also uses tape.

Two that I have done that work very well are:

Valencia: Iberian Musings by David Kechley for SATB and Marimba. (its a VERY hard marimba part though....)
Strange Humors by John Mackey for SATB and Djembe. (recorded by H2 on their CD entitled, Time and Spaces)

Both are well worth playing.

Strange Humors is a good piece, even though I'm not the biggest Mackey fan (he's okay). I must admit I prefer the original cello version a bit better though.
