"Hello all,

Although I normally don't use this forum to promote my own stuff, I just wanted to let you know about a website that I just put up.

Because of my other site, BestSaxophoneWebsiteEver.com, I'm constantly getting readers sending in questions about how much certain saxophones cost. Taking into consideration that saxophone pricing is a big question on people's minds, I thought I'd create a website to help address this issue.

What I've come up with is SaxophonePriceGuide.com. It's got saxophone prices from three different retailers, photos of each horn, descriptions, brand overviews, and retailer overviews.

Right now the site is focused on the most popular new horns, although I plan on adding more new horns soon and possibly used horns as well.

In the meantime, I'd love to get your honest opinions about the site and whether you think it could be useful for potential saxophone buyers.

At any rate, you can check out the site here.

Thanks!"

Hi, It seems like a useful tool, but music123, wwbw and musician's friend are all the same company. They also all price match, and only display minimum advertised pricing, as dictated by Jupiter, Yamaha, etc.

It would be all speculation, but it would be cool to have a site where people could remain unknown (and be honest) and post what they paid and what region they live in. This would protect individual retailers. As a moderator of sorts, you could hold their post until a receipt is verified (with personal info blacked out of course). That would be a lot of work though.

Yeah, I was under the impression that these 3 companies are all the same company. That's what I thought anyways. If that's the case it's not really a comparison but just a big ad for WWBW.

The social media windows does cover part of the site on my iPhone which is a drag.

Useless. That is the easy way out - no more information that a simple Google search. No value added.

Apologies. I've been accused of being too subtle lately.

I'm not sure it is useless. If you could get 4-6 different companies on there with different prices it could be really handy. Of course if all the prices are the same maybe not. The problem with google searches is you usually have to click through the pages to get to the price. Or worse it says cal or email for a price. At least here you could potentially just see the prices all on one page without having to click through tons of google pages.

I think it would be more useful to have people record their experiences (Model, finish, date of sale, price before tax and retailer), so that people could know the actual street price of new instruments as opposed to MAP.

Doron could put a comment section on the bottom where people could post there experiences. Stores, how much, where.......That's a great idea.

Include the date of the pricing else you'll really confuse the issue of historical price vs current street price.

New horns only?

Hey guys!

For some reason the emails notifying me of responses here did not make my inbox!

Anyhow, thanks so much for your insights. I should have mentioned that this site is in its very infancy. Obviously, it leaves a ton to be desired at the moment. Truth be told, I didn't realize that all 3 of the stores I have are the same company, so at the moment it gives a ballpark of what you can expect to pay for these horns throughout the web, but obviously it's kinda silly how you've got 3 prices that are identical.

I got rid of the orange social media bar for obvious reasons.

As for adding somewhere to put comments, I need to work on that as well, maybe have a user review page for each instrument.

I'm taking down all of the suggestions and will do everything I can to make this truly useful.

Thanks so much!
