I offer saxophone lessons for all levels and ages, beginners to advanced. If you're not a sax player but interested in general improvisation techniques, you came to the right place as well.

I'm originally from Switzerland, studied performance at Berklee College of Music in Boston and am now an active performer in NYC. I've played alongside musicians like Benny Golson, Buster Williams, Terri Lyne Carrington, Adam Nussbaum, Randy Brecker, Donny McCaslin, Adam Rogers and many more. Check out my website for audio samples and more information about me: http://www.christophhuber.com

Lesson material can include:

Saxophone specific:
Tone and intonation exercises
Mechanics and finger exercises
Time and feel exercises
Melodic and harmonic vocabulary
Altissimo playing
False fingerings, effects etc
Practice routines
and more...

General improv technique:
Outlining chord changes
Chord substitutions
Motivic development
Jazz language/vocabulary
Learning and memorizing standards
Performance techniques
Transcription
and more...

If you're interested we can also work on your composition and arrangement skills.

I charge $40 per hour if you come to my place in Washington Heights ($25 for half hours). If I come to your place it's $55 as I don't have a car and it has to be within reasonable distance. If it's close to my place we can negotiate a lower price. For lessons at your place I'd prefer hour lessons (or more) rather than half hours to make the travel worthwhile.

Contact me if you have any questions. I look forward to hearing from you: [email protected]
