How did I let this happen? I have become that guy. I've heard stories like this in the past, and I laughed wondering "how stupid must you be in order for this to happen?" Today, I have become that guy.

What a story!

It could have been a person.

I expected to see a sax mashed flat, so it was not bad looking, for a run over sax.

"That's the wheel that did it" sounded authentic --- yeah.

You were really lucky.

And the case must be pretty good to protect the sax that much with the weight of a car on it.

All in all you deserve congratulations.

Lessons in life learned at a fairly early age at a fairly low price, considering.

And an nice video addition for our family of sax players to warn them!

Thanks!

I almost ran over my Super 20 bari 15 years ago, I still cringe when I think about it.

My sax somehow made its way under the wheel of our 15 passenger tour van early last summer just as we were heading out for a run of regional shows. My case (hiscox!) was totaled but somehow my horn escaped unscathed. Had a new case shipped to our venue a few days out and carried my sax around in a duffel stuffed with pillows until we got there. Definitely dodged a bullet.

You';re handling it very well - better than I think I would. Glad your horn is repairable.
Absolutely! Not funny, about fifty years ago a buddy of mine's wife backed up over their 2 year old son's head. He survived but lost vision in one eye and, to me, he seemed kind of spacey. That may have been because his eyes were weird and you couldn't tell where he was looking. Anyway, you can always get a new sax.
