Been getting help from this and other forums for a long time so decided to contribute something i think is usefull.
I refer here to Stephen Howards article at shwoodwind on the use of a moldable material which he used for palm key risers and such called sugru. Takes 24 hours to dry. Its quite expensive. So i went looking for something else.
I recently found, on ebhay, a material called Polymorph Thermoplastic.
Melts in water at 60 degrees. Is then mouldable to any shape you want. Sets as soon as it cools to a fairly hard white plastic somewhat like nylon. Can be pigmented to various colours. Very easy to use and very satisfactory results. Also very cheap, 100 gms is only a few euros including postage. It can be melted again as many times as you like so if your not happy with the result just melt and do it again.
Today i got some and made a replacement right thumb hook for my yani 991 copy. Lovely sax but the hook was too low for me. (Its a Thomann TTS 150 by the way so if anyone is interested in details of that let me know)
Also made a low C sharp pinky key riser for my old Lafleur (must be as old as me and im 55) tenor. Still going strong after all those years, lovely balance to it but the pinky key, ouch, too far back and too little leverage. A common problem with vintage saxes i believe.
Both the thumb hook and the pinky key riser are a total success. Cost peanuts. And were done in half an hour. No more sore thumb and pinky

Any questions just ask
I have been intrigued by this material already, but never tried it.
Do you think it would be suitable for making removable mouthpiece baffles? I am thinking of the shrinkage it might have solidifying.

Great idea, hadn't thought of it. Might give it a try. I imagine it would work quite well. Would have to find some way of sticking it to the mp. It doesn't adhere to metal and I don't think to plastics either although I haven't rried with plastics.. Certainly cheap to try and easily remolded as often as you want. Quite hard when set so wouldn't change shape with time.
There doesn't appear to be any shrinkage when setting but again I haven't attempted to measure that.
Let us know if you try it, would love to hear the results

Very welcome. I think it can be very usefull. Afraid I have no idea about 3D printing though sound interesting. What is it?

Look in Youtube. Or another name is rapid prototyping.

Computer tells a printer to spit metal or plastic in layers to build up a 3-dimensional shape. E.g. titanium tooth implants, and countless other objects. It's incredible.
