Hi all

I was browsing my iPod the other day and noticed that there were comparatively quite a lot great sax players called Joe or Joseph. Here is my list so far:

Joe Henderson
Joe Ford
Joe Lovano
Joe Farrell

Do you know any others?
Remember this is just for fun :bluewink:

Joe Allard on tenor...

...with Roane's Pennsylvanians, an early swing band from Joe's hometown of Lowell, Mass., who made their only two record dates for RCA in 1932. Joe plays the tenor solos on the following with a very dark, fat tone reminiscent of Rudy Wiedoeft, his early idol.

Flip Phillips was born Joseph Filipelli (sp?) Early on he was billed as Joe (Flip) Phillips.

Joe Crossman was a good alto player with Lew Stone's British 30s band. He had a solo feature called "Ups and Downs."

Joe Lulloff, a classical cat, taught (teaches?) at Michigan State.

And not to forget the amazing Joe Rushton, possibly the best bass saxophonist ever.
