I put the YouTube audio into Pro Tools - no extra processing apart from conversion from the video file to WAV.
The timings can be seen if you click on the image to enlarge it.

The amount of muting looks and sounds almost too good to be true - far quieter than the voice.
This is also much better than other YouTube demos I've seen which were mostly alto - higher frequencies so should be easier to mute than tenor.

No I don't have one yet. The sound sample waveform in post #2 is from the Sax.co.uk video in post #1.

I hadn't spotted that.
Disappointing - one mic would have allowed us to compare sax, muted sax and voice.

These things are really heavy on the neck, glad someone put one on a stand. I had a similar one for tenor for a short time and couldn’t play for long at all without taking breaks or find something to rest it on...couldn’t imagine holding one up for soprano.

It's about time, I've never been able to play whenever I want to. I'll wait to see what you all have to say before I consider one.
