I am planning to buy a sakshama guardala. Could you guys share some of your experiences with this mouthpiece..?

Which version? I'm playing his MB II now on my 85xxx VI and it's the best piece for this horn by
far that I've ever had

Mine is the bronze with a silver finish - it's not real pretty in that there are a few imperfections in the cast by man is it a player. Plays easily top to bottom and altissimo. Cuts but still has body. Gives me a hint of that Lenny Pickett sound. Over blows in a really friendly way. It does take a little bit to get used to that very narrow body if you haven't played a narrow line piece before and you have to shape your attack - but any new piece requires getting used to

the sakshama version kills all the others...and plays right up to an original

my sterling silver sakshama guardala has the warmest/darkest sound of any i've played I endorse them and I've test played somewhere around 30 pieces

I have to say the bronze versions...including the MBII are ALL dark "enough" they are suprisingly warm playing/sounding pieces

All Guardala designs tend to be bright to very bright. The darker designss are the MB1, Crescent, Post Bop, Branford, and Traditional. Plus, there may be a few custom made ones with even lower baffles out there. I'm sure Sakshama can set you up with whatever you want to try. I do not make them from scratch but I can modify them. Here is a MB1 I recently made from a Studio:

Just get an over the counter WWBW Crescent. They seem to be very consistent , no imperfections and play well. I would never consider any model of Guardala to be "dark", but the Crescent are very "reed-friendly". You probably want to buy a metal ligature for it because I think they still come with one of those crappy rRovner ligatures

Well here's the thing - they both play great but they really quite different. The Mojo PMS LT Studio plays HUGE, powerful with lots of body- big props to Mojo on this. It works Great on my Super 20 but makes the VI too honky. The MB II is more focused and matches up really well on the VI.

I have a Mojo MB II for sale if you are interested. But it might be brighter than what you are looking for. You will do well with either Sakshama or a Mojo modded LT. The off the shelf pieces didn't doit for me

just a couple of weeks ago i did the taste test.....

ONLY piece that stood up to my Sakshama Sterling Silver guardala was a REAL guardala FATBOY

"handmade" nadir...PMS....WWBW.... original DGs that's right! my sakshama buried 2 REAL DGs as well!!!

I have a Crescent Guardala, with the metal French Selmer ligature.
As far as I know, the Crescent is the darker sound of the Dave Guardala's.
To compare, I'm also a NY Otto Link STM 8, which has darker sound than the Crescent.

I recently played with sotw member legitalto and got to see and hear the Sakshama Guardala alto and let me just say that it is a beautiful piece of work and had tone for days.

My next large $$$ purchase will be the Sakshama Guardala "Studio" in Bronze.

I'm currently waiting on a Sakshama Guardala MBII Silver Plated at a .112
I'd have to agree with modman in the fact that its a beautiful piece that really enhances and makes your tone come alive. I'm excited and when I get mine I'll review it some, just from others thoughts it sounds like its the next best thing to a blank original Guardala.

You are getting the Tenor correct? I am referencing the Sak alto.

Yes the Tenor; I'm just agreeing in that I've heard nothing but good things for Tenor so I'm sure they are both great.
