Did anybody played one of those old Comet / Runyon made MPCs ?

I had one. Faced by Paul Coats.
A truly nice playing mouthpiece but a little on the dark side.
I did like it but unfortunatly it never became my number one favorite
on the Conn and sold it again. But they are very nice mouthpieces really.

My Comet, bought from Mr. Coats some years ago, is clear amber and marked as a Runyon 7. I wouldn't call it dark so much as "unbright." Easy playing, pleasant sounding, but lacking in special qualities - mellowness, edge, power, subtone, none of them are quite there.

I have one for alto and tenor which I really like and used in more 'traditional' settings, very smooth blending sounds with nice focus to them.
