Wondering about people's experiences with RPC wait time. I have ordered one piece from Ron in the past, but he happened to have one ready to go and I got in literally within a week. Anyhow, I am waiting on an 80B alto piece currently, and he estimated 2 months, maybe a little less as he was a little less busy when I ordered it (this was mid August). I'm cool waiting and didn't want to seem impatient, wondered if others have received pieces close to the estimated time or not...

(Also, please don't take this as an opportunity to bash Ron or anything, I have always had good dealings with him and this is not a complaint, just wondering what to expect based on other experiences...)

I for one have been curious about this model so please post your impressions when you get it. In the past when I bought from Ron things took maybe twice as long as estimated. Not as over the top as a certain J.G.

In my experience 3-months is typical, although I waited 6-months the first time I bought a piece from Ron (about 7-years ago).

Thats cool, I will adjust my thinking--based on his original estimate, it sounded like he might have it here right about now. I would rather assume its going to take a while longer and be surprised when it gets here; thinking it might be here each day gets a little old...!

The first one I got within about 2 months, which was about the time frame Ron gave me. The second one took more like 5 months. The important thing is they both arrived eventually and were everything Ron promised them to be.

Anyone busting to get an 80B should contact me...I might let mine go, but atm I cannot decide whether I like it more or less than my JJDV6 :)

Ron told me he makes his mouthpieces in 'batches'. As of a couple of weeks ago, he's working on tenor pieces.

You have the piece you ordered in January now?

I ordered end of July for a baritone piece so I'm just on the anticipated 3months.
No. I still don't have the bari piece. He said they were the 'next batch'.

I got an alto piece from Ron in about 4 months, and a tenor piece in about 3. Hak's description of his process matches what he told me. Be patient; the piece will arrive (when you least expect it).

The funny thing is that Ron seems to underestimate the time frame a bit...

I bought a piece in the meantime that will kind of fit the bill, but ultimately I am looking forward to getting this alto piece; the 115B tenor pieces I have are a real saving grace for the jobbing things I play, and I am waiting for the alto for the same reasons...

Ving, did you ask for a little bigger tip than 80? A while back someone said the 80B is usually made to about 85. Someone else measured a couple 90R at 95 or more.

I still don't get why his his high-baffled alto mpc is closer open than the rollover. Ya think it would be the other way.

Well, still waiting---anyone else received a piece recently they've been waiting on? I'm past the 3 month mark, hope I haven't lengthened the wait time by posting about it...

Got my bari piece today, 12/3--ordered 1/12.

Well worth the wait--it's about as perfect as a piece can be.
