It may be a plastic /HR blend, but I think it is all plastic. Similar to what is used in the Rico Graftonite/Metalite mouthpieces. Very durable.

I have 2 of those mouthpieces, and they were designed by Steve Wilkerson and made by Rovner. I no longer remember what they are made of, but whatever it is it is great. Both of mine are an 8, and a La Voz Medium reed works great.

There were 2 models, one with a baffle and one without. Mine are with and it gets a huge, fat sound that projects but is not edgy. It is the only mouthpiece I have seen where the table has been cut away and it has 2 chambers. It is a very large mouthpiece which you have to adjust to, but the sound is worth it. I would grab one while you can. Steve later put out a white one that is similar, but I still prefer the black ones.
