Oh man, you're right. The vibes are way sharp to the organ or the other way around. It's painful to listen to this when they are both playing.
You're referring to the times when Bobby goes "outside" a bit like @ 1:40...?

Yes, but any time the vibes play in that song they are painfully sharp.
More likely the B-3 was not getting a consistent true 60hz line feed and as a result was flat. I don't hear it but you do so it's true.

Could be the vibes have a higher tuning if they are borrowed or rented. Europe still has some higher pitched instruments around. And it's not like you can tune an organ.

Anyway, I've really been enjoying players like Ron and David Sanchez. Succint is how I would describe them. Love it.

Nice track, great playing all around.

Regarding intonation and the B3 - the back is off. At one point the camera zooms in to the "oiling instructions". These are not good signs (well, there is nothing wrong with the instructions, but normally you wouldn't see it). Obviously someone has been "in there" for some reason. B3's are old, and notoriously difficult beasts.

I actually think the upper manual is at fault - it seemed quite flat at the beginning of Joey D's solo, and at the end of the tune, it's noticeably out of tune with the vibes. The lower manual didn't bother me at all.
