I've recently been converted to RJS on tenor and alto, and now I'm thinking trying them for sop too.

I've been very happy with Hemke 3's on sop in the past, and I wondered if anyone had experience of both reeds on sop and had any comments on how they compare tonally and response wise. Thanks.

I am in love with RJS on tenor (3S) and alto (2H) too, but not so thrill with them on sop (3S and 2H)... They don't sound that "thick" on sop, to my ears... Hemke (2.5) is better on sop for me... This is only IMHO, your milage might vary...

A long, long time ago I went between Vandoren classic and Hemkes. Hemkes gave a meatier sound but seemed to die quickly. I haven't tried them for ages since Vandoren brought out the Javas for soprano.
