Absolutely terrible news. I did not even know he was sick. Loved him with Cannonball.....and Miles...Weather Report was a huge influence on me....and I saw the Syndiacate many times. Huge loss and too early...he was still making really great music.

Terrible news. A seminal player.

I heard him with Weather Report in Kansas City on the 'Heavy Weather' tour in '74. In my memory it's one of the top 5 concerts I ever attended (and that's a LOT of concerts).

He's off to be a 'Mysterious Traveler' .
