I am saddened to advise of the sudden passing this evening of my brother-in-law, Joseph "Habao" Texidor, longtime percussionist with Rahsaan Roland Kirk (from 1968 through 1977). Joe was a gentle person, with a constant eclectic dynamism boiling just under the surface. Check out some of his work with RRK on YouTube - helpful, prodding, humorous, possessed! Joseph had it all going, and saw to it for years that RRK was able to make the most of his opportunities for the expression of his art. Well earned rest, but too soon, my brother.

Sorry to hear of his passing. I saw Joe with Roland Kirk, most memorably when they played on a bill with and then played together with Frank Zappa and the Mothers of Invention in Boston, 1969.
