Just found out that Herb Couf, former clarinetist w/the Detroit Symphony, teacher, entrepreneur and the man who was "instrumental" in introducing Keilwerth saxophones to the USA, died on Friday, after having a stroke, earlier this week.

I think he was 89 or 90.

So saddened to just now see this..owned Superba 1 tenor and alto and had a couple of occasions to speak with him over the phone about they metal alloys and such about his saxophones. Great man and a musicians musician. RIP Mr. Couf

Winelight is one of my favorite albums, and I'm pretty sure it was played on Couf's horns. RIP sir.
