Boy, do I miss the many times that I stayed in Toronto. Long and McQuade's on Bloor St... That's where I bought my first serious soprano mouthpiece! A Dave Liebman model that I later sold because it was too much work for me (I was just starting then...). Good memories of Toronto ...

I made it to the Rex for tonight's performance by Don Menza. He was a beast on a Conn 10M and rubber Berg. Menza called some interesting tune choices, it was very entertaining. He was supposed to be sharing the stage with trumpeter Sam Noto but according to Menza the 81 year old Noto was celebrating with a little too much enthusiasm after Thursday night's gig and was unable to answer the call tonight due to the 24 ounce flu.
